WATL's Mission Statement
The World Axe Throwing League (WATL) is the global governing body & league for the sport of urban axe throwing. Our mandate is to grow and strengthen the sport of urban axe throwing internationally by welcoming global axe throwing clubs to join our organization. Our mission is to bring the sport of urban axe throwing throughout the world through our members.
HOW IT WORKS
Ironside Axe Club is the FIRST destination for competitive axe throwing in Central Iowa. We are the first member range of the World Axe Throwing League (WATL) in the area as well. Axe throwing is a fun, safe group activity. Our location in Penn Central mall is easy to get to and ideally located for anyone in the Oskaloosa, IA Area. Come join the fun and find your inner Viking warrior with friends, family, or coworkers! On a typical visit, first you will receive safety training and learn how to throw an axe. Then, for groups of 6 or more you will divide into teams and your coach will lead you through a series of games. Finally, once you have mastered throwing, the coach will teach you a trick shot. We have Beverages, snacks, pizza and ice cream available. If you would like to bring in other food please call to make arrangements. but remember, closed-toe shoes are required at all times! Be sure to take a lot of pictures and videos of your Viking Warrior axe throwing skills and post them to your Facebook and Instagram accounts.
